Gu Shengyin patted him: “Smooth talker.”

Lu Zhangting laughed: “I’m telling the truth. You being able to understand some people’s hearts and knowing how to protect yourself would make me be more at ease.” Otherwise, if he was not by her side, he would worry about whether his little girlfriend would be hurt by others who had ulterior motives.

Gu Shengyin did not speak and relaxed herself, nestling against that man with all her heart. In fact, she already knew her lover’s answer, wasn’t that right?

No matter what you look like, no matter who you are.

    2. Guess you’ve forgotten quite a bit. While it did take a few arcs to get mentioned, it has been mentioned they’ve had kids several times. At very least I do remember the Actress and Piano Girl arc specifically mentioned their kids.

  12. I don’t think I like this MC in this arc. I understand she went through heartbreak but does it mean that it’s QSS’s fault for her ineptitude in overcoming it? Her being single her whole life was her choice. Her being hurt her whole life was her choice. She let her circumstances lead her around. Being single in itself is not a bad thing. Being trapped in the past is. She could’ve moved on but she didn’t. Instead, she retaliated because she became single her whole life? Like, come on! I didn’t like what QSS did. It was wrong no matter the reason. But QSS had realized her wrongs. She woke up. But what did our MC did? She wanted QSS to leave behind everyone she loved and go to another country and never return because that’s what happened to her in OStory. Dear MC, you are not a soft bun. True. But being such a person is also not good. The MC does not have any right to give such an unreasonable demand to avenge the original host’s inability to cope and inability to move on.

    1. I have to agree with you, somewhat. She was actually far less harsh to others who had done far worse things. She ended up being miserable and losing her love.

      Now on the flip side, although everything that QSS did to GS (as SL) might come across as very minor, they did all touch on her past trauma, so the outcome could have been potentially far worse.

      When seen from a certain aspect, QSS could have been treated far more harshly than she was: she did not lose her freedom (prison); education (kicked out of University – only transferred to another University in foreign country);
      potential job/income (due to prison and loss of education); reputation (having the entire matter publicized); nor ability to have a good marriage (all of the above).

      In regards to the consequences she could have faced (which were technically all fitting and proper legally, ethically, and morally), being exiled from the country, while harsh, can also be considered as rather lenient in light of what she could hsve faced.

      1. The only legally dubious one would be the bribing the homeless guy. All the rest the exile is too extreme because that was 100% a choice the og made.

  14. What the hell??? All the girl did was get the guy in the previous life. She did nothing but take the dude, yeah she did bully her that one time with the holding hand and stuff but I bet QSS had no clue of her sickness and for that the MC did all this to her just of that???!!!! What the MC did is not at all like a protag. but more like a villain, I get she want retribution but this is like over-kill for what the original MC herself decided (to be single and not move on). The previous MC lacked confidence and that is not QSS’s fault that’s her own fault. I have a hard problem talking to people, I don’t blame the people around me, I know its something I need to get through by myself or have the courage to ask for help. I am not going to blame anyone for it.

    1. I have to correct you: QSS did know about her aversion to being touched (go back and re-read the chapters); she may not have known the details of why, but she was aware of the fact that she had such an aversion, which is what she was taking advantage of.

      Also, on the surface what QSS did seems minor, but the outcomes could have been far worse (potentially even worse than what original host went through). If not handled properly, she could have had to deal with: increased trauma (exacerbating what she had from childhood, which was already pretty severe), with varying levels up to and including being so overwhelmed she took her own life (and it does happen IRL); being stigmatized as a bully, others avoid and shun her, could have resulted in serious loss of reputation and worst case, family gets dragged down; being bullied herself, various things could have happened to her, especially since she originally didn’t seem to be the type to tell her family; and there was at least one other one I was thinking of but have since forgotten (cause it’s midnight right, and brain is getting sleepy🤤), but you get my point.

      Now the likelihood if the worst case scenarios happening may not be very high, but it is still possible; remember, even though Gu girl has experienced thousands of years of life, the body still fainted due to the shock from trauma, so who can predict what would happen.

      My prior post talked about how harsh versus how lenient the exile was, so I won’t touch on that here, but QSS had far more liability and culpability than you stated.
