Lin Qi’s real name was Qi Lin. Her father was a soldier of the Federation, but her mother was an ordinary civilian within the Empire.

The two of them were currently aboard the largest command ship of the Storm Lion Legion, the Star Wing. As an envoy from the Galactic Empire, Situ Jin was heading to the Stormwind Commerce State, the neutral force occupying the northern part of the Milky Way. 

The Stormwind Commerce State was not a part of any of the other major forces, and occupied a sole planet. It was rumored that there were some unclear, hidden relations between the leaders of the Commerce State and the two major forces within the galaxy — the Galactic Empire and the Interstellar Federation — and so, they have always stably held onto their position of power.

As for the other minor forces, it was not as if they had never considered attacking the Stormwind Commerce State before. It was simply that, in the past, a neighboring principality had declared they would forcibly occupy the Stormwind Commerce State, and the very next day, the royal family had been replaced. No one had ever dared to breathe a word about it again.

However, Gu Shengyin, who was a member of the top echelons of the empire, knew that the reason the Stormwind Commerce State could maintain its status quo was not because of allies within the Empire and the Federation, but rather because there was a hidden power supporting them from behind.

“Major Lin Qi,” she spoke suddenly.

Qi Lin was currently watching Gu Shengyin from behind, and was startled when she was suddenly called.

Inexplicably, a sense of unease surged within her, but she still smiled lightly: “Your Excellency, how may I assist?”

Gu Shengyin turned, scrutinizing her, and spoke sternly: “I want to know, what is the goal behind you changing your face and your identity to approach me, Qi Lin.”

As she spoke, Qi Lin’s expression changed drastically.

Based on Gu Shengyin’s words, she seemed to only be aware of the issue with Qi Lin’s identity, and not the whole story.

However, Qi Lin understood that, with the empire’s powerful intelligence gathering, if a background check really was requested, her entire life history would be sent to Situ Jin’s terminal within the hour.
